Andy Kennedy

Andy Kennedy is a motion artist and musician based in Brooklyn NY. Working in variety of techniques including cg, stop-motion, and cel animation, Andy is interested in visualizing sound in unique ways. Andy's films Accumulonimbus (2010) and Slow Wave (2016) were award-winners at previous editions of the SoDak Motion Festival. We are very proud and humbled to have Andy join us again for 2018. David Yee

David Yee was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He completed his undergraduate studies at San Jose State University in 2001 and received his MFA degree from the University of Hartford in 2014. The majority of his career has been spent working in the art department at Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), George Lucas’ visual effects company. Here, he’s worked in a variety of positions including art assistant, concept artist, and art director on projects such as Van Helsing (2004), Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith (2005), Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), Super 8 (2011), and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015). He’s also spent time working as a freelance artist in the video game industry as well as a digital artist in the marketing department at Apple Inc. In 2007, David began teaching as an adjunct professor at SJSU and joined the faculty full time as an assistant professor in 2017. Yee's own film Jimmy Loves Juice (2014) screened at the 2014 SoDak Animation Festival.

 

Anne Dugan

Anne Dugan is an independent curator and educator in Duluth, Minnesota. She teaches Art History at the College of St Scholastica and manages the Kruk Gallery at the University of Wisconsin, Superior. Prior to teaching she served as Executive Director and Curator at the Duluth Art Institute for seven years. In 2004 she co-founded the Free Range Film Festival in her big old barn in Wrenshall, MN. She holds a masters in Art History from Columbia University and has curated nationally recognized exhibitions. Dugan owns an organic vegetable farm with her husband and is the mother of 2 young children.
